34rd Annual Fran Fanelli Award
The Fran
Fanelli award is a long lasting Gaels tradition
dating back to 1976 when the first Fran Fanelli was
awarded. The award is present to an active Midget or
Junior Midget football player recognized for his outstanding
and permanent contributions to the Melrose Parks Gaels
football organization.
All eligible players
for the Fran Fanelli award must meet the following requirements:
- Currently enrolled as an 8th grader
- A member of the Melrose Park Gaels for at least
3 consecutive
years (including current year)
- Excels in leadership and sportsmanship on and
off the field
The winner(s) is
selected by a vote from his fellow teammates and cheerleaders
from the two highest levels.
The winner's name is added to the award along side the
names of previous
Fran Fanelli winners.
